Message from the President
I would like to thank the membership of the club for giving me the opportunity to serve as the president this year. I hope I can do a good job but it looks like it will be a lot of work. If anyone has anything they are concerned about or would like to see something done please talk to me and we will see what can be done. I am always open to your thoughts and wants for the club.
The members that come to the meetings have seen a lot of change in the club in the last year and we hope to continue the change. I hope it is all for the better but time will tell. I think most of our goals are for the good of all of the members. If you have not been coming to the meetings I would like to encourage you to come out and see that things have changed. I think you will enjoy the meetings and can meet the new members and stay in touch with what is going on in our club. Remember it is your club also. We don’t know what you would like to see happen if you are not there. We need the help and input from all our members. You will also be informed of the upcoming outings. We are trying to have more things for the members to come out and have fun with. This year we have had several things going on. We have had a few one-day shows and a tractor ride. We have been participating in some of the festivals in the area. We also go to other club shows and set up together. If you are at the meetings you will hear about the upcoming shows in the area and can come out and join us. The club is for us all to have fun with and that is where we are trying to go. Come and help us with that goal.
We have been trying to get the 501-c-3 designation for the club for some time now and have had problems with the process but it looks like we are going to be able to get it worked out now. We will be changing the paper work that governs the club to get that in line with what the government requires. We have an attorney that will be looking at the paper work and letting us know if it will be in line with the government requirements. We will be looked at a lot closer when this new designation is put in place so our paperwork must be kept in good order. The people that are in place are doing a good job with this. Their job is now more involved so if they ask for you to change the way things have been done please help them. It will all work out for the best and become second nature fast.
We need your help with the show. As you could see from last year’s show it took a lot of work. If we all do a little work it will not be hard for any one person and we will all have a good time. If we try to let a few people do it all it will not work in the long run. We already have a lot of people doing their job and I thank you for that. If you have a small job and think you can do a little more to help we can find someplace for you. We will not ask you to do anything that will be overwhelming and the board will help you get set up for anything we ask you to do. We will not put you in a place that will keep you from having a good time at the show. The board members have taken on a lot and they need your help. Dave has a lot of things in the works and I think he will make our show better each year. The board members have stepped up their game and put a lot of hours in for the club each month. You may not see it but they have a lot they are doing now. It will all be seen in the way things will change in the next few months. So tell them thanks from time to time, it will go a long way in keeping them focused.
I hope to see you at the next meeting and dinner we are having. Bring good food and your friendship.
Thanks, Fred Milner
